CELESTIALVideo installation collaboration with Ruvin De SilvaWhen Ruvin sent me this photo for the first time I couldn't help but imagine it breathing; a soft-sighing female torso. The longer I was staring at it the more I started noticing motions under the skin. I had this photo on my computer for some time and I ran many experiments with it. I collaged it with other visual fragments and added music to it but none of them gave enough breath. Finally, this single frame emerged into more frames per second; an almost meditative state. The text 'Celestial' was lurking in the back of my head throughout while not knowing how it would affect the final form. This video is more of an emotion or an energy. A female torso trying to advance itself to a celestial formation via glitches and other visual accents however it ends up just revealing its honest whole self. There's no identity or background for the viewer to connect with other than to try and decipher or read what the body is saying. Maybe this could be a stargate. A fraction of intimacy that travels beyond gender and identity.
