Art Murmur x #SupportLocalArt Talk: Mythical Narratives of the Sri Lankan Diaspora

Two Sri Lankan diasporic artists discuss the connections to their homeland through myths, rituals and storytelling.

Art South Asia Project (ASAP) have partnered with #SupportLocalArt to host a summer series dedicated to the field of modern and contemporary Sri Lankan art. As the second in its series, Mythical Narratives of the Sri Lankan Diaspora, Mala Yamey, Head of Programs at ASAP speaks with artists Vasantha Yogananthan, who was born in France to a French mother and a Sri Lankan father, and  Shyama Golden, a Sri Lankan-American artist based in Los Angeles.


#SupportLocalArt: The Talk Series is an initiative organised by Saskia Fernando Gallery to create a much needed platform for conversation on the developments of the Sri Lankan art industry.

ASAP "Art Murmur" hosts artists, academics and art professionals from all around the world to discuss topics and issues faced in the field of modern and contemporary South Asian art.
