Temporary Permanance XVA Gallery Dubai: Sujeewa Kumari, Prageeth Manohansa, Nadia Haji Omar, Jagath Ravindra, Mika Tennekoon and Anup Vega
Saskia Fernando Gallery is pleased to announce the exhibition ‘Temporary Permanence’; showcasing the works of 6 artists from Sri Lanka in Dubai with XVA Gallery Dubai, one of Dubai’s leading galleries located in the DFCC Gallery complex in the heart of the cities financial district. This is the first group exhibition of Sri Lankan contemporary art to be staged in Dubai; the show is a collaboration between both galleries, XVA Gallery and Saskia Fernando Gallery in Colombo. The exhibition showcases the works of 6 Sri Lankan artists: namely Jagath Ravindra, Prageeth Manohansa, Sujeewa Kumari, Mika Tennekoon, Nadia Haji Omar and Anup Vega.
The exhibition is comprised of sculpture, works on paper, oil on canvas works and mixed media works. Themes explored by the artists cover issues of change and loss, religion and culture each artist utilizing a specific technique and style to portray their concerns.
