Concept Note

Most artists tend to have a quiet mind, peaceful ambiance and focus when they are creating. I am never able to create anything when it's too settled. It is tedious and I become very unadventurous when it's too quiet. I juggle between projects, ideas, and mediums. When I was a kid it was so noisy in my head and I was hypercreative which lead me to be fatigued and exhausted within a very short period of time. Over time and my age, I try and manage to keep the chaos at my own calm.

"Mythopoetic" is an amalgamation of the movies I rewatched, the albums I played in the background, the beats I made between intervals and chronic socializing via interwebs due to quarantine and curfews. I would play the anime Akira on mute, crank up some Rei Ami tunes, One eye reading Bukowski quotes and the other looking through my Instagram news feed. All these things are happening while I'm sketching, coloring and cut-pasting magazines.

My all-time favorite filmmaker once said

"I like things that are never one way. Usually, emotionally, I make films based on a type of energy. I try to work with things that are more difficult to articulate. And so, that's more of a feeling. And so, the things that have attracted me are more of the things that are morally complicated or emotionally complicated."
- Harmony Korine

It's fragmented. A collage of uncensored emotions. An uncurated collection of moods and one solitary adventure of personal myths. An ADHD journal. Sort of.

Aesthetically inspired by artists like Cy Twombly, Jean Michel Basquiat and JJ Villard. Compositions and arrangements deviate from data design, comic books to mark-making.
