Chamila Gamage

Chamila Gamage's practice is rooted in painting, drawing, sculpting and set design. He believes that drawing is our oldest form of communication, using it to delve into our collective memory and explore universal themes of war, sexuality, gender, and religion. Rendered in crude lines, his drawings aim to connect with the less optical senses of the viewer - their emotions. He likens his works to modern cave drawings which can convey meanings unhindered by cultural differences and language barriers.
