Overview
Saskia Fernando Gallery is pleased to announce our participation at Art Dubai 2024, featuring a solo presentation by Chandraguptha Thenuwara in both Art Dubai Contemporary and Art Dubai Modern.
We will be featuring the Mother and Child (1999), an important piece from the artist’s Moscow Painting series, wherein the backdrop of camouflage juxtaposed with the traditional mother and child signifies a transition in the artist’s visual style during this period. In conversation with this piece is a selection of the artist's mixed media paintings and drawings contextualizing the sociopolitical conversations and observations in his oeuvre.
