We are delighted to announce that Hema Shironi will be presented with the 2026 Asia Arts Future Award (South Asia) to be held in February next year.
Hema Shironi’s artistic practice is driven by the nostalgia of the numerous places she has called home and how each community belonging to those places grapples with concerns of memory, culture, and equality. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art and US Department of State - Art in Embassies Collection.
The Asia Arts Game Changer Awards are Asia Society India Centre’s (@asiasocietyic) signature celebration of artistic excellence. Each year, the Awards felicitate four artists from South Asia, spanning generations and disciplines, whose practice exemplifies creativity, leadership, and cultural impact.
