In Hindu scripture watermelons are noted as one of Hanuman’s favourite foods and are commonly used as offerings at temples dedicated to the monkey god. Positioned on a dining table amidst a lotus field, the fruit assumes the significance of a sacred offering. Exploring themes of devotion and invitation, Prageeth examines the complex interplay of regional identity and diplomacy through the guise of mythology.
