Lightlines: Kavan Balasuriya
Saskia Fernando Gallery is pleased to announce the upcoming exhibition by Kavan Balasuriya titled Lightlines, where the artist presents geometric abstractions inspired by architecture, textiles, and organic compositions created by tracing the surface of aluminium foil.
Kavan Balasuriya is an artist who uses aluminium foil to explore the practice of drawing. In exploring the novel, spatial and even emotional qualities of the foil, he presents the potential of static objects being fluid visual experiences. Kavan is inspired by craft-based practices and uses his drawing practice to engage in a dialogue between maker and material.
