Hema Shironi repurposes old jewellery boxes which once housed family heirlooms to encase fond memories of childhood in the series ‘Jewels of Forgotten Memories’. The nimble-size of the photographs are, gently punctured to trace the solid outline of homes, expressing a frailty when held in one’s hand. The work weaves through tender memories tof memory and identity as the artist tries to find what meaning the home holds outside of its physical structure.
