Contemporary Art from Sri Lanka 2011 curated by Josephine Breese and Saskia Fernando, was the first international showcase of Sri Lanka’s leading contemporary artists since the end of the civil war in 2009. This definitive exhibition offered a survey of current developments in Sri Lankan art and an overview of the country’s most prominent artists working today. Participated artists included more established figures in Sri Lanka such as Muhanned Cader, Druvinka, Kingsley Gunatillake, Sanjeewa  Kumara, Saskia Pintelon, Jagath Ravindra, Tilak Samarawickrema, Chandraguptha Thenuwara, Jagath Weerasinghe and Anoma Wijewardene, alongside prolific emerging artists Vajira Gunewardena, Dumith Kulasekara, Sujeewa Kumari, Prageeth Manohansa and Pala Pothupitiye.
